Amazon's streaming lineup gains the Amazon Fire TV Stick, a compact device for HD entertainment on the television. It connects to a high-definition TV through HDMI and to the internet over Wi-Fi.
About Product
Design and Setup
At 3.4 x 1.2 x 0.5 inches and 1.1 oz, the stick tucks behind the television rather than taking up shelf space. A USB cable, power adapter, HDMI extender, and quick start guide come in the box.
Inside the Stick
A quad-core ARM 1.3 GHz processor and Mali450 MP4 GPU run alongside 8 GB of internal storage. Wi-Fi supports 2x2 MIMO 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, and Bluetooth 4.1 + LE is on board.
Voice and Video
The included Alexa Voice Remote handles voice search and uses two AAA batteries. Output reaches 1080p at up to 60 fps, and Dolby Audio supports 5.1 surround sound over HDMI.
The Fire TV Stick supports 720p and 1080p viewing on HDCP-compatible HDTVs in a living room or bedroom.
